Bible Verse Today

Make the Bible part of your daily life.
Life change starts with getting to know God through His Word.

"THERE WERE 700 SELECT LEFT-HANDERS WHO COULD SLING A STONE AT A HAIR AND NOT MISS."

Judges 20:16

Are you are an expert in anything? Some say be "a jack of all trades, master of none", but that would not have made David so valuable. As the 700 men before him, David perfected the slingshot enabling him to confidently say to King Saul that he had "KILLED A LION AND BEAR; THIS UNCIRCUMCISED PHILISTINE (Goliath) WILL BE LIKE ONE OF THEM." Whether we are watching sports, listening to music, or reading of famous Christians, we do not see the hours of practice required. If you become an expert in an area, you will never lack money or work. Like David, God will use your invaluable skill.

"SOME MEN CAME CARRYING A PARALYZED MAN ... THEY TRIED TO TAKE HIM INSIDE TO JESUS,"

Luke 5:18

A "WELL DONE" from Jesus goes out to all who risk a relationship, give up their time, or spend their money trying to get someone to Jesus. The Lord forgave and healed the paralyzed man because He saw the costly faith of his friends. The unnamed men were true, godly friends who literally carried their friend and were determined to do whatever it cost to get him to Jesus. This week at our church VBS, I saw those same unnamed friends who gave up their time and treasure to get kids to Jesus. "WHEN JESUS SAW THEIR FAITH..."

"DO NOT SORROW, FOR THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH."

Nehemiah 8:10

Protect your joy in the Lord. Be on guard for joy stealers. Do not allow people or pressures to co-opt your happiness. There is much in life to "SORROW" about, but if we dwell on that, it will drain our joy and therefore our strength. "DO NOT SORROW". Give your problems and problem people to God, but dwell on how good God is and how graceful He has been to you. "Count His blessings one by one." He has saved you and has richly blessed you. "EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE..." Dwelling on your "SORROW" makes you weak, but "THE JOY OF THE LORD" makes you strong!
