“EVEN A FOOL WHO KEEPS SILENT IS CONSIDERED WISE AND DISCERNING IF HE HOLDS HIS TONGUE.”

Proverbs 17:28

You may have heard the adaptation of this verse, “It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.” Whenever you say something stupid, embarrassing or hurtful, you realize how important it is to develop self-control in what you say. It is also important to stop yourself from “speaking death” through negativity, grumbling, gossiping, or putting down others. “Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect.” (Jas 3:2)
